Overview:
Polarization of light is the phenomenon in which the vibrations of light are restricted in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the propagation of light. This phenomenon is used in polarizers, to control the intensity of light. A polarizer is generally used in sunglasses, window panes, photographic cameras, etc.
Learning Objectives:
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Explain the phenomenon of the polarization of light.
- Define polarizers.
- Determine the behavior of two polarizers kept at different angles.
